"La Conversation"

A joint exhibition of paintings, sculptures and photographs
-- Birgitta Kopperud (painter), Tessa Collier (sculptor)
et Michele Ch'I (photographer)

Location: L'Office de Tourisme, Luzech
Maison des Consuls, rue de la Ville, 46140

Date: September 3 - 28, 2007
Monday-Friday 10h - 13h and 14h - 17h.

The Exhibition

Three different media, but also three very different artists from
different countries and backgrounds who have become friends in the
Lot are exhibiting their works together for the first time in Luzech.
In spite of their diversity, the three women are united in their
passion for life, art and nature. Intermingled here, their paintings,
sculptures and photographs engage in a lively visual conversation
that they hope will delight and inspire all who come.

The Artists

Birgitta Kopperud was born in Sweden in 1945 but lived most of her
adult life in Norway, where she worked as a stewardess for 25 years.
In 1996 she and her husband set out for a four years journey around
the world in their sailing yacht. Today she lives in Mauroux,
enjoying the opportunity to continue painting, decorating and her
other hobbies. She has already participated in many very popular
exhibitions in the Lot Valley. Her visits to many different countries
and cultures are the inspiration of her creative work, which is
characterized by its light humour, wit and imagination.

Born in England and brought up in west Wales, Tessa Collier comes
from an agricultural background. Throughout her life she has been
very close to animals, plants, nature and the soil. She moved to the
Lot with her family in 1995, where she gardens and tends a flock of
sheep and pair of steers. Sculpting in clay is a continuation of her
love for nature, for the clay itself and the forms that take shape.
The finished works are then cast in plaster or in re-constituted
stone. Although she has sculpted for several years, this is her first
exhibition.

Michele Ch'i was born in Hong Kong and has an honours degree in Fine
Arts from York University in Toronto, Canada. Besides her years in
Hong Kong television as a programme director and working in news
broadcasts, she has produced documentaries and taught video-making to
a non-profit organization. A keen traveller, she has traveled all
over the Far East, North America and Europe. Since 2000 she has made
the Lot Valley her home. Michele has had 4 exhibitions since 2004.
