Hi! We are moving to Mauroux in April and come from East Sussex. We spent 18 months researching living in Spain and have come back to our first love, France. We are just the 2 of us and a large puppy dog called Rio (we found him in the local river, hence the name). We have a family but left them all behind in the UK as we decided to take an early retirement and enjoy life without kids at last. My job was in BBC Radio, so if there is a English radio station, please let me know, as maybe I havent finished with work yet after all! Or maybe we could start one up???

Susie...There is a Local Radio Station here in Cahors. French owned but has a spot for the Brits. I believe there is a three hour slot broadcast on a thursday (maybe wrong). Anyhow it is run by Mike Gardiner who is a friend and a couple of other Brits.

All keen amateurs they are always looking for keen helpers or people to go into the Radio station and be interviewd and play their choice of music.

The name is Britdock and I believe they have a story somewhere here on Frenchentree.com Lot/Quercy. Probably the Editor will point you in the right direction. For a brief period I did a while at Radio Mercury (Sussex)and County Sound Radio (Surrey) when living in England.

If you are interested in contacting Mike, PM me and I will give you his number.

Britdock is indeed broadcast on Thursday evening 4 - 7 , and repeated Sunday 8 - 11 , on local radio Antenne d'Oc , 88.1 or 89 MHz in Cahors and 100MHz in Fumel.
I spent many happy hours listening to MG , Rochester and the rest of the gang whilst renovating our money pit not far from where you are heading Susie , in Floressas.
If you go to Lot and Quercy Life / Real Lives and somewhere near the bottom you'll find the article Mark refered to.
