Question - what tree is this?

Spotted this tree growing wild at the side of the road near Moissac (Tarn et Garonne).

Recently bought a wash stand for the bathroom and discovered it is made from the wood of this tree.

Anyone know what it is?

It looks to me like a paulownia tomentosa, commonly known as the foxglove tree. It flowers in the Spring, well before the leaves are open and carries the walnut sized seed pods throughout the winter. It is beautiful when fully grown and will flower as quite a young tree - 5 or 6 years old. The tree is a fast grower and also makes a good shade tree.
